Another excellent chapter in the Dixie Wardens MC series. Loki is an undercover detective for the Benton PD. He encounters our heroine, Channing, while pretending to be a drug addict low life living next door to her. Channing is dealing with a mooching wastrel of a brother at the time. Loki is after the ugliest of criminals, a serial rapist. One thing leads to another and they fall in love. It's not clean and easy from either side and there are obstacles to overcome, his job, her past trauma. There is a HEA and also a shocking revelation or two in the final chapters from both characters pasts. My favorite thing about Ms. Vale's stories is the inclusion of other characters from previous books in this series and her Freebirds series. I love the feeling of an ongoing relationship with characters I've come to love and feel of as family. If you've not read her books before this, I recommend beginning with Boomtown (Book 1 of the Freebirds) and reading in order to this book. It's not necessary as each is a stand alone story but there are lots of connections and history that enrich the current story. It's 28 days until Book 5 is due out and I'm not sure I can stand the wait! Happy Reading!

This Loki's book. He is a cop. Now working undercover. he is trying to take a man who is raping woman and also finding out who is pushing drugs in the town. He has eye for the woman who lives next door to him. But there is something he doesn't know she is afraid of cops because of something that has happen in her past. But she takes a chance with Loki and they start to have feeling for each other. But trouble is just around the corner. Lorki and his brother will do anything to keep them both safe. Another great book in the series. I freaking love this series.
This was my first time reading any books by Lani Lynn Vale, I absolutely loved this entire series. I can't say that I love one book over the next. Each book stood on its own. I loved the way that she writes her novels. Reading through all 8 books you will feel all the emotions! One of my favorite parts of this series that went throughout all of the books are the quotes at the top of each chapter! I would text my husband my favorites ones while reading. I would recommend this series again and again. I also loved the concept of this series and the fact that although all the men are Alpha Male Bikers they aren't outlaws! I have read several biker series and this by far is on the top of my list!
Absolutely loved this Story...Channing is the female lead, she comes off as needy and scared but once she gets over her fears and trusts you all bets are off. Vale wrote this character perfect for Mr. Loki he is a serious character who has no release from his stressful job and Channing just does and says outrageous things. So she makes him smile and laugh... makes him talk and other things as well. Such a good addition to The Heroes of The Dixie Wardens Series!! Happy Reading!!!
I thoroughly enjoyed the characters and their story, the author draws you in right from the start and keeps your interest all the way through to the end. Such a great storyline, motorcycle club, cops, firemen, veterans, the author brings all my favorite type of characters together. You get plenty of twists and turns, action, a great story with hot alpha males and strong independent women, what more could you want in a great story. This is one book you won't want to miss.
Bryce 'Loki' Rector was done with undercover but on his last assignment he finds he is distracted by his stunning neighbor Channing. Channing believes Loki is a drug addict with not a lot of drive, but she is also attracted to him even though she doesn't want to be. Loki though is trying to find a serial rapist and at the same time trying to quietly protect Channing.

When Channing finds out that Loki lied about who he was and is a cop though, her long standing fear of cops arises and she is not sure she can trust those that he surrounds himself with. Not to mention the serial killer has put Loki on his radar and trying to prevent him from testifying, even if it means killing anyone in his wake.

Exciting read. I liked Loki, he is a bit more of an observer but you never doubt his feelings for Channing. Roller coaster ride from beginning to end. Channing was a perfect heroine for Loki. Look forward to more in this series.

Undercover officer and member of the Dixie Wardens Detective Bryce “Loki” Rector is undercover as an out of work meth addict. He’s working on a serial rapist case and moves into a bad neighborhood where the suspect lives. He didn’t count on the hot next door neighbor and the feelings that she rouses in him.

Channing works hard to take care of herself, her battered car, her rundown house and even her lazy, worthless brother. Channing doesn’t have hardly any friends or do much outside of working a full-time job and 2 part-time jobs. She notices her neighbor and wonders why she is attracted to dirty, unkempt, drug addict. But Channing’s biggest problem is her fear of all cops.

When Channing found out about Loki being a cop, she was shocked, felt betrayed and even though she was still somewhat afraid of him, she still was attracted to him. She had to have a little liquid courage, but she still wanted to be near him even though he was a cop.

But when Loki is in danger because of his case, and he can’t be seen with Channing, it takes a toll on their secret relationship and their psyches. But they continue in whatever way they can that will keep her safe & off the radar. But somehow, it will all catch up to them and they will have to work extra hard to survive.

We did get to see other members of the Dixie Wardens MC in smaller capacities and mentions of a couple of the guys from Free. But I did get a kick out of Silas and Dixie especially in this book. Lani Lynn Vale’s sense of humor never fails to crack me up! I could totally see myself kicking back on the deck & drinking a beer with her! I always laugh while reading her books!
