Summary: Love can be as sweet as honey, or it can sting like a bee.Bo Smith knows that if you go looking for honey, you get stung, so he has his life just how he wants it. No hassles, no complications, and no heartache. As the handsome high school athletics coach, he would be the pick of the small town he grew up in... if he was into commitment, or dating...or even calling back. But he has sworn off anything resembling a future and his mind isn't going to change.
Then his eyes lock on the new girl in town...She’s beautiful, intelligent, and full of surprises. Just the kind of complication he has been avoiding.
Sophia Brown is looking for the sweet simple life. She has it all planned out. Getting used to life alone isn't easy, but she has her garden, her bees, and her dog Triton to tend to. It's the fresh start she's been dreaming of, surrounded by nothing but open fields to stare at all day.
Nothing at all...unless you count the high school football team and their distractingly handsome coach, practicing right across the street.
When sparks fly, Bo must choose between the sting of his past or the sweetness of the future.
He may just find that honey tastes good on everything.
What I loved:
The premise of this story is original. I loved the chemistry between Bo and Sophia instantly. But I have to say, I loved that it wasn’t a tug of war between them in a way. Their hearts were both in it, but neither one wanted to confront their feelings until they were forced to sort themselves out. Triton, Sophia’s dog, is such an important part to this story. It’s a true testament to how pets can heal broken spirits and really are a person’s best friend.
What I didn’t love:
Sigh. It’s always that these boos end. Why do they have to end?
Overall: This was such a quick, easy, unique read. Heather Shere is well on her way to becoming an auto-click for me. I am excited to see what else she comes out with. Her details and dialogue were on point and kept me engaged in what was happening in the story. The secondary characters also offered a level of depth and their own unique story that I wasn’t expecting. It was a pleasant surprise.

Honey Bee edition by Heather Shere Contemporary Romance eBooks Reviews
It all started with a spark that ignited a fire that created a slow burn that seared their hearts together.
There are romantic comedies and then there is Honey Bee. This book is laugh out loud funny, so funny that I needed to use my inhaler and needed to tinkle! With the laughs, there was also needing a box of Kleenex.
Bo Smith, he'll make you mad at first and you just want to spank him and pull his hair, but, you know that he is a doll, it just takes a little while for the Honey Bear to appear, and when he does, look out. He does go back into hibernation for a bit and once again you will want to scream at him...but, he is a swoony, hunky high school football coach with a heart of gold.
Then there is Sophia. A beautiful, smart, ambitious self starting beehive keeper who makes her own soaps and aromatherapy products. She's a smart cookie who loves her new home in a new town that she shares with her beloved Bernese mountain dog King Triton.
Triton steals the hearts of everyone he meets, with the exception of Bo. He's quite the character and he's worthy of his own story based on his adventures!
Triton became the new found hope that gave Bo the strength to begin the journey to forgive himself for the tragedy that put him on the sidelines to his sister and brother in law's life.
This story has so many endearing moments and I can't recommend this book enough! It's truly buzz worthy of 10 stars!
Where do I start? This is an adoring, fun loving read with a somewhat hurt and troubled young man and a girl who is sticking to the plan she once made with her mother.
I went from adoring, loving and wanting Bo all to myself to loathing the ass and wanting Sophia to walk away and never look back. In the end- I was cheering them on and loving the two of them together. Two people meant for each other and all they needed was a dog name Triton and an electric start. )
“You never truly lose someone you love. They are in everything around you that you love.”
This was a hard lesson for Bo to learn- 10 yrs and all it took was for a woman with a love for Honey to move into the town to turn his world upside down. Don’t get me wrong- it wasn’t overnight but, it was well worth the wait.
Sophia Brown a single female with a furbaby named Triton who moved to the small town where her parents grew up. No friends and no family; a fresh start and a plan was all she was expecting with a sweet hobby and what a start it was….
Bo Smith a single athletics coach in small town who was heartbroken when he was a kid and never got passed it.
Together will they both find something they didn’t think they needed or wanted? This story is simply amazing & sweet with characters that will pull you in from beginning to end. You won’t want it to end-
While settling into her house shortly after moving to a new town, Sophia Brown meets Bo Smith, the athletic director at the high school across the street while trying to get her dog, Triton, into her truck to go to the vet. Bo takes an immediate liking to Sophia, but the same can’t be said for his attitude toward Triton. As Sophia forms a fast friendship with Judy, Bo’s sister and one of the local veterinarians, she learns the reason for his aversion to not only her dog, but all pets. When Triton proves himself to be more than the disobedient oaf he originally took him for, Bo quickly changes his tune. But it may be too little, too late for Sophia. Still reeling from a big surprise, she must decide if she’s willing to give Bo another chance.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book! From Triton’s antics to Bo and Sophia’s simmering sexual tension, it was perfection. Props to Heather Shere for deviating from the standard romance novel formula. In doing so, she crafted a fun and easy to read story that made me laugh, cry, and smile from cover to cover. I highly recommend this novel and can’t wait to read Ms. Shere’s next one.
